When you use our digital business card, as the case may be (the “App”) and more generally, use any of our services (the “Services”, which include the App), we appreciate that you are trusting us with your personal information.
We take your privacy seriously. In this privacy notice, we seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it and what rights you have in relation to it. We hope you take some time to read through it carefully, as it is important. If there are any terms in this privacy notice that you do not agree with, please feel free to discontinue using our Services immediately.

Data we collect
We collect your first name, last name, and email address.
In relation to billing, we collect through our payment processor ‘Stripe. We collect your billing address, payment type along with card expiry, last 4 digits of your card number, issuer, and any information to help us prevent fraud such as device type, device IP address, operating system, and browser. For more information, you can read Stripe’s TOS (UK) and their privacy policy (UK).
In relation to the App and Services we provide, any information that you provide within the “My Card” area of the App dashboard (listed below) are publicly accessible in one form or another. The information entered here should not be sensitive. It is your responsibility to ensure you’re not submitting or publishing information you don’t want others to know. What we do with it
We don’t have any intentions now or in the future to sell any information you provide. That’s not what the team at Yass! are about. We use the information you provide us to manage your subscription, offer you the digital business card service (the App and Service), and update you via email with changes that may interest or directly benefit you.
Email marketing:
You will be able to opt into specific types of email marketing (updates, service changes, and helpful guides). As of March 30th 2021, we only send emails to you related to the service you’ve subscribed to (updates and service changes). When we change this, you’ll be notified via email and asked if you wish to opt in.
Offering you the App and Service:
Your name and email address is used to provide you the App and Service. We use this information to provide support, maintain our technology, and to identify the individuals logging into Yass! Card.
Your Subscription:
Our payment processor ‘Stripe’ is used to automatically manage your subscription. We control aspects like cancellation period, auto-renewal renewal period, and price. Your information is used to generate the new month-to-month or year-to-year billing cycle and invoice accordingly. It is also used to notify you of any price changes.
How we share your information
We don’t. All the information you provide us is kept locked away and only people who need access to it have access to it. This includes our support staff, accounts and billing staff, and application developers.
How long it’s kept for:
We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless otherwise required by law. If you terminate your subscription and no longer want any of your data linked with us, please contact us using hello@yass.uk
Cookies & Website Analytics
We security auditing tools to monitor visitor behaviour and prevent malicious attacks from happening. These systems log information anonymously but include your IP address, web browser used, pages visited and time spent on these pages in order for us to track down the potential cause of a security vulnerability (if found). In addition to this, we create an automated log of each URL accessed in order to generate any required redirect from old links to new links.
Google Analytics is used alongside Google Search Console to track the performance of our website for when/if we utilise further marketing strategies. This policy will update with more information when/if these occur.
App and Service login requires a cookie to be stored on your computer to authenticate who is trying to make changes to your account. Tokens are passed from the App to Stripe to authenticate any make changes to billing if you choose to.

1. What the words mean
The following terms have the meanings opposite them:
- 1.1 “data protection laws” means the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) or any substantially equivalent law enacted in the UK, as applicable;
- 1.2 “EEA” means the European Economic Area;
- 1.3 “our websites” means the Yass! site and www.yass.uk;
- 1.4 “we”, “us”, “our” or “Yass” means Yass! Digital Business Card;
- 1.5 “your information” or “information about you” means personal data (as defined in the data protection laws) about you.
2. What information we collect
Personal information you disclose to us.
In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.
- 2.1 We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the App, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the App or otherwise when you contact us.
- 2.2 The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the App, the choices you make and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:
- 2.2.1 Personal Information Provided by You. We collect; phone numbers; email addresses; mailing addresses; job titles; usernames; passwords; billing addresses; debit/credit card numbers; contact preferences; contact or authentication data; and other similar information.
- 2.2.2 Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your payment instrument number (such as a credit card number), and the security code associated with your payment instrument. - 2.2.3 All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.
- 2.3 Information automatically collected
In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our App.- 2.3.1 We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use or navigate the App. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our App and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our App, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.
- 2.3.2 Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies.
- 2.3.3 The information we collect includes:
- 2.3.3.1 Log and Usage Data. Log and usage data is service-related, diagnostic, usage and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our App and which we record in log files. Depending on how you interact with us, this log data may include your IP address, device information, browser type and settings and information about your activity in the App (such as the date/time stamps associated with your usage, pages and files viewed, searches and other actions you take such as which features you use), device event information (such as system activity, error reports (sometimes called ‘crash dumps’) and hardware settings).
- 2.3.3.2 Device Data. We collect device data such as information about your computer, phone, tablet or other device you use to access the App. Depending on the device used, this device data may include information such as your IP address (or proxy server), device and application identification numbers, location, browser type, hardware model Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier, operating system and system configuration information.
- 2.3.3.3 Location Data. We collect location data such as information about your device’s location, which can be either precise or imprecise. How much information we collect depends on the type and settings of the device you use to access the App. For example, we may use GPS and other technologies to collect geolocation data that tells us your current location (based on your IP address). You can opt out of allowing us to collect this information either by refusing access to the information or by disabling your Location setting on your device. Note however, if you choose to opt out, you may not be able to use certain aspects of the Services.
- 2.4 Information collected through our App
In Short: We collect information regarding your push notifications, when you use our App.- 2.4.1 If you use our App, we also collect the following information:
Push Notifications. We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or certain features of the App. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.
- 2.5 This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our App, for troubleshooting and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.
3. How we use your information
In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfilment of our contract with you, compliance with our legal obligations, and/or your consent.
- 3.1 We use personal information collected via our App for a variety of business purposes described below. We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests, in order to enter into or perform a contract with you, with your consent, and/or for compliance with our legal obligations. We indicate the specific processing grounds we rely on next to each purpose listed below.
- 3.2 We use the information we collect or receive:
- 3.2.1 To facilitate account creation and logon process. If you choose to link your account with us to a third-party account (such as your Google or Facebook account), we use the information you allowed us to collect from those third parties to facilitate account creation and logon process for the performance of the contract.
- 3.2.2 To post testimonials. We post testimonials on our App that may contain personal information. Prior to posting a testimonial, we will obtain your consent to use your name and the content of the testimonial. If you wish to update, or delete your testimonial, please contact us at hello@yass.uk and be sure to include your name, testimonial location, and contact information.
- 3.2.3 Request feedback. We may use your information to request feedback and to contact you about your use of our App.
- 3.2.4 To enable user-to-user communications. We may use your information in order to enable user-to-user communications with each user’s consent.
- 3.2.5 To manage user accounts. We may use your information for the purposes of managing our account and keeping it in working order.
- 3.2.6 To send administrative information to you. We may use your personal information to send you product, service and new feature information and/or information about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.
- 3.2.7 To protect our Services. We may use your information as part of our efforts to keep our App safe and secure (for example, for fraud monitoring and prevention).
- 3.2.8 To enforce our terms, conditions and policies for business purposes, to comply with legal and regulatory requirements or in connection with our contract.
- 3.2.9 To respond to legal requests and prevent harm. If we receive a subpoena or other legal request, we may need to inspect the data we hold to determine how to respond.
- 3.2.10 To send you marketing and promotional communications. We and/or our third-party marketing partners may use the personal information you send to us for our marketing purposes, if this is in accordance with your marketing preferences. For example, when expressing an interest in obtaining information about us or our App, subscribing to marketing or otherwise contacting us, we will collect personal information from you. You can opt-out of our marketing emails at any time (see the “WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS” below).
- 3.2.11 Deliver targeted advertising to you. We may use your information to develop and display personalized content and advertising (and work with third parties who do so) tailored to your interests and/or location and to measure its effectiveness.
- 3.3 For other business purposes. We may use your information for other business purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and to evaluate and improve our App, products, marketing and your experience. We may use and store this information in aggregated and anonymized form so that it is not associated with individual end users and does not include personal information. We will not use identifiable personal information without your consent.
4. Will your information be shared with anyone?
In Short: We only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, or to fulfil business obligations.
- 4.1 We may process or share your data that we hold based on the following legal basis:
- 4.1.1 Consent: We may process your data if you have given us specific consent to use your personal information for a specific purpose.
- 4.1.2 Legitimate Interests: We may process your data when it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests.
- 4.1.3 Performance of a Contract: Where we have entered into a contract with you, we may process your personal information to fulfill the terms of our contract.
- 4.1.4 Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process, such as in response to a court order or a subpoena (including in response to public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements).
- 4.1.5 Vital Interests: We may disclose your information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our policies, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person and illegal activities, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
- 4.2 More specifically, we may need to process your data or share your personal information in the following situations:
- 4.2.1 Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
5. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?
In Short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.
- 5.1 We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store information. Specific information about how we use such technologies and how you can refuse certain cookies is set out in our Cookie Notice
6. Do we use platform APIs such as Google Maps?
In Short: Yes, we use Google Maps Platform APIs for the purpose of providing better service.
- 6.1 This App uses Google Maps Platform APIs which are subject to Google’s Terms of Service. You may find the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service at ”https://developers.google.com/maps/terms”. To find out more about Google’s Privacy Policy, please refer to ”https://policies.google.com/privacy”,
7. How long we keep your personal information.
In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law.
- 7.1 We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us.
- 7.2 When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
8. How we keep your information safe
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
- 8.1 We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security, and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our App is at your own risk. You should only access the App within a secure environment.
9. Where do we process, store and transfer your information?
In short, we generally process your information through servers in the UK and EEA and normally store it for six years. Sometimes the information goes outside the UK and EEA but we try and keep this to a minimum and we put safeguards in place as far as possible.
- 9.1 We process your information and store it on servers managed by our hosting providers.
- 9.2 Those servers are located across a number of secure data centres in the UK and EEA. Our server environment is highly secure and there is very limited personnel access. Any information will be encrypted “at rest” (in other words, on being stored).
- 9.3 Unfortunately, the transmission of your information via the Internet can never be 100% secure. Although we will do our best to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of information about you transmitted to us and so any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
Do we collection information from minors?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
- 10.1 We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the App. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. 11. What are your privacy rights?
In Short: You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.
- 11.1 If you are a resident in the European Economic Area and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority. - 11.4 Account Information
If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can:- 11.4.1 Log in to your account settings and update your user account.
- 11.5 Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Terms of Use and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.
- 11.6 Opting out of email marketing: You can unsubscribe from our marketing email list at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send or by contacting us using the details provided below. You will then be removed from the marketing email list — however, we may still communicate with you, for example to send you service-related emails that are necessary for the administration and use of your account, to respond to service requests, or for other non-marketing purposes. To otherwise opt-out, you may:
- 11.6.1 Access your account settings and update your preferences.
- 11.6.2 Contact us using the contact information provided.
12. Controls for do-not-track features
- 12.1 Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognising and implementing DNT signals has been finalised. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.
13. Do we make changes to this privacy policy?
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
- 13.1 We may update this privacy notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated “Revised” date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. If we make material changes to this privacy notice, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification.
